Oriental pumpkin paste

Ingredients

Pumpkin paste is the perfect way to use this wonderful and extremely tasty vegetable. Especially for you, we have  proposal to prepare such a sandwich paste in a slightly more oriental atmosphere. Ready? So we are starting a culinary journey to the Middle East!

To prepare, we need:

  • A small hokkaido pumpkin
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • olive oil
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Tahini - 1 large tablespoon
  • Salt and pepper - to taste
  • Roman cumin - 2 teaspoons
  • Galicia Pumpkin & Cheese Crisp Bread

Preparation

  1. Pumpkin paste is easy to prepare, so don't let the time given in the recipe scare you. Mostly it's time to bake the pumpkin and then cool it down. The preparation itself and your work certainly take no more than 15 minutes.
  2. Start by peeling, hollowing out the pumpkin and cutting it into large cubes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  3. Place the sliced pumpkin on a baking tray and pour over the olive oil. Add 3 cloves of garlic, peeled to the pumpkin. Bake the pumpkin for about 40 minutes at 180 degrees.
  4. After taking the pumpkin out, put it in a bowl and let it cool down.
  5. When the pumpkin is cold, add a large tablespoon of tahini (sesame paste), a tablespoon of butter and cumin.
  6. The last step is to blend all the ingredients and coat the Galicia Pumpkin & Cheese crisps with the prepared paste.
